Happy 3rd Birthday, Iris!

On June 25th Iris turned 3.  Initially we planned to celebrate the meaningful day with her nanny (Kak Halimah) and her kids. Unfortunately we had to call it off last minute as her kids had to attend extra class.  We postponed it to the next day instead. So, what we did for the whole day? Nothing fancy actually.  I brought Iris to the main campus to cycle and I realized that Dataran Canselori is a great place to do that as it is traffic-free and it comes with some "terrains" to explore.   My girl got to roam in a large compound (unlike our very small living room) and I assume I eliminated some stubborn fat by joining her on foot (berlari la maksudnya tu...)

Another activity that we both love doing is sitting on the pedestrian bridge watching the vehicles passing below.  Our favorite is the bus; because of the height and the impact created as they pass through, you can feel as if you were sitting on top of them.  I estimate the distance between our butts and the roof of the bus can be as little as 1 meter.  That is perhaps the safe distance for Hollywood stuntmen to jump on moving vehicles i.e. garbage truck, trailer, bus, train etc. without breaking their major bones.  That day, I taught Iris about the different made of the approaching vehicles. One thing that I realize about kids at her age is that they don't rate things by the superficial look; rather it is by the personal and emotional values they affix to it.  When I asked her which one looks nicer; the CRV ahead or Mama's car, her immediate answer was "Car Mama!" Oh, you are such an angel...  Very un-materialistic. Keep it that way and don't ever change!  :)

The final activity of the day was "giving fish am".  We brought some about-to-expire Gardenia wholemeal bread from home and 3 pieces to Jacob's cream crackers to feed them (wow, those fish were feeding on healthy stuff!).   Before this, we used to go to Friendship Park at Stutong and pay RM2.00 for a packet of fish feed.  I am impressed with the lady (the fish feed seller) who responded quick enough to the fact that she can make money out of parents'/bf/gf/grandparents' desire to see their children/gf/bf/grandkids happy with such a simple activity.   After discovering that we can have the same kind excitement at the new campus, I'd rather go there now because it is nearer.  Good also, can save on petrol some more...
Last but not least, happy birthday to my darling housemate.  Although Mama didn't throw you a party (by now you should know that your mom doesn't fancy parties), I love you nonetheless.  You are the best daughter that a crazy mom like me can ever wish for.  Funny, how a little creature like you can be my poison and potion.

Peace, no war!
